14 Haikus About Things

Published on

A gentle begin
with gusto and great desire
to do justice here.

First up are the Bees.
I love the buzzing bumbler
called the honeybee

Could I leave out bones?
No way, luck calcium lives
to rule eternal.

Beef. Ah yes. The beef.
Power and senses of strength
Beef is more than brawn.

Ducks? Adorable!
Flappy little flipper feet,
quacking and dancing.

Videogames? Me.
I play with a mental mask
But always have fun.

Trees, naturally,
My favourite of the plant world,
Redwoods give me awe.

Existential Time!
Are we in a timeloop now?
Could you ever tell?

If I clap time stops,
But if you clap it starts up
And we never know.

Universally,
Are we lone life or hidden
From space denizens?

Through words our soul lives
Through poems our souls connect
Always parallel.

I wish ghosts were real
Only if they looked like boos,
Afterlife circles.

Berry, Blue and Ted,
The apocalyptic crew,
Destroying our home.

A melancholy
For time lost, as credits roll,
final cinema.
