We Are All Trapped in our Own Reality

Published on

I see what I see,
But do you see the same, or can you see the same?
How can any of us be sure
that the way a colour pops is not
the way a colour sags, muting into ennui.

Your reality belongs to you, your thoughts
preconceptions, ideals form your world.
For shining moments, our lives overlap
and we share a moral or a vision
and strive towards, but that end result
are we approaching the angles the same?

Reality is process, and process relies
on functional machinery and accurate measurements,
but who decides?
From where does the origin evolve?

I see a road every morning,
and I drive it one way,
and it looks small and twisty
taking me around a roundabout.

I see this road every evening,
and I drive it the other way,
and now it is grand, and straight
and I travel upwards to the sky.

Are we all travelling the same street,
but our different directions
mean we are in isolation?
Can we ever truly journey together?
Or do our realities confine us?
