The Prelude

I entered your sanctuary,
grandiose a title for sure
but this was your home
high up in the richest
of heavens.
A place of safety that
I coveted also. Oh how
I discovered the art
of static joy, where rooting
became meditation
surrounded by shadows
of welcoming.
You presented the machine
of your creations,
with twinkles it powered
and those piano notes
hit like a hook.
We were ordinary people
sharing a year,
though we drifted like fauna,
inner acceptance unlocked
for us both,
richer not poorer.
