The Home Stretch

This is it, everyone, this is the where
the plot thickens, or in my case,
the plot begins to wrap up!

We got 31 days remaining,
if you count this one, which
I guess, you have to!

If you do not, then you have
30, which is a separate number
altogether, though more pleasing.

At the end of this month,
this project will have completed
itself fully and wow, is all I can say.

I never did NaPoWriMo properly,
though tried several times,
always petering out midway.

Here we are steam rolling to
a finish! Actually, those machines
are rather slow and cumbersome.

Ok, think of a train, with no brakes
nor engineer, a sort of frantic Thomas,
and I am a station, watching it flyby.

If I was a station, I would be Neasden,
because the name is said funnily
on the underground.

The Piccadilly line is my fave, because
of the way it snakes around London,
and sounds like sandwich filling.

You ever heard the noise of opening doors
on the Met? I swear they are the opening
notes to the Hook theme by John Williams.

I would give anything to ride the trains
as part of my work day, especially having
slow lumbering journeys Home.
