Imagine a kid, youngish, not quite
in the same traffic lane as others
(if we are to use traffic lane as
a metaphor for thought patterns,
essentially they are axon like
and connect vast swathes of
human thought to other though,
it felt like a good comparison
at the time though perhaps
I could have said water works,
because pipes are more fluidy
and brain fluid is a fluid
and again, blood does the
whole pushed through pipes
thing, though we call them
capillaries and arteries,
the word vessel for them
always confused me because
you call a ship on the water
a vessel and it goes places
and none of the circulatory
system goes anywhere, unless
you are walking to get a
haircut, or something, anyway)
and someone says they have
a pair of rabbit slippers.
Now imagine the horrified
face of a child thinking this
trusted family member
had stuck feet into rabbits.
