Pier

Wood be thy flooring,
surf be thy foundation,
sunshine be thy roof
and I shall lay upon thee.
I shall stretch and subside
till I am naught
but indistinguishable from
the frame of that jetty.
Now I am barrier,
I am that spear into ocean,
where by feet life teems
and flows, bubble and breathe.
Crashing water soothes
and blazing sun caresses,
I have become peace.
