A Pome a Day for a Year

Love a podded peas bag of peas that are podded,
insamuch, apparently,
during my formation as a wee little baby,
my mum craved podded peas (and satsumas)
and would devour those fresh
little greeny (or orange) spheres with aplomb!

I, too, in this day and age,
at my ripest of ages,
(good lord, I am forty two),
love to eat podded peas, especially the
slightly smaller ones,
more concentrated and sweeter, but
all peas are brilliant (though my experience
limited to peas on a plate and peas in a pod,
the mushy kind has never sat right)
and if I had a bag,
I would consume like a starving black hole,
these planets my sustenance!
