One More Thing

Crinkly grey little coat,
(oversized and ill fitting)
gravelly soothing tones,
emanating from mouth full of cigar,
(those ashes are dropping in sandwiches)
questions fly,
a mongoose attacking a snake
the way they land,
tempers fray further and warm
disarming smiles further the strain.

His wife has supreme relevance,
(but does she exist?)
A tall fairy tale
stopping smug rich evil,
a beleaguered sort proud
of her husbands criminal nabbing
enterprises.
Look down on him?
Be prepared
to look up at your noose.
