A Pome a Day for a Year

Lotta Medusas around here,
lotta emerald snake hair maidens
flitting about their business
(what is it exactly
that these gorgons are doing here
in Kidderminster, the carpet town?
Kinda looks like some
home ornament side hustle?)
and I am wondering how did nine Medusas
come to exist in 2025,
when they were from a while ago
in the Greek times
before the Jesus times,
and she was supposedly murdered?

There were only supposed to be three gorgons,
(the daughters of Phorcys and Ceto,
if you trust Hesiod
on such matters)
and Medusa was the mortal one,
(butchered by Perseus who was having an argument
with his nemesis a long time ago!
She was not even doing anything,
just chilling on an island,
cursed by Athena,
hidden from man,
who would try to find her,
blame her for their weaknesses and attempt
their own gorgon based murders, )
and I cannot help but think
about what a tragedy it was,
that her sisters, Stheno and Euryale,
were never able to exact the justice
that Medusa deserved

Maybe this is it,
this is the bittersweet end for Medusa,
selling human sized garden gnomes in modern clothes
for £20 a piece —
wait, you can get three for £45?
That is a great deal!
