A Smooth Groove Behooves

I find vinyl records tougher to wrap
my head around than sand that makes music,
because sand that make music
is mp3 players,
whereas vinyl
looks like a Frisbee made of tar,
covered in spirals so small,
that running a finger across
is like the softest sandpaper.

Those tiny trenches bobble and wobble
and putting a needle inside them
connected to a speaker
produces full on audio??
Now that is pure witchcraft magery!
I mean, the ones and the zeros I kind
of get, yesses or noes, that state if
a bit of data should be something or not
but spindly lines on these superflat wheel
looking things?
Well, I am in awe.
