I Solved the Ship of Theseus

Published on

It is not the same ship but
it wishes it could be.
Any change,
any alteration,
any addition
and you have a facsimile
of the once, and still, majestic boat.

We are the ships of Theseus.
No problem to be solved,
cells expire,
pushed out by backups,
every waking moment.
We are a version,
we reference ourselves,
an ever growing index in a book
of ages, and that is OK.

Every decision,
every event,
every thought,
every moment we are who we are
and the change ripples across
us, like raindrops on a lake,
ever present ever occurring.

Fluidity is the core, while
belief that we are rigid is the
deception we cradle longingly.
